Man sentenced to six months for possession of weapon |

A Birmingham man who was found in possession of a conducted energy device in Stourport been sentenced to six months in prison. Tom Ryan, 23, of Bromford Road, Birmingham pled guilty at Kidderminster Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday 18 August). Ryan was arrested over the night of Friday 15 August and Saturday 16 August morning in the Stourport area where he was found to be in possession of a conducted energy device. He was charged on Sunday 17 August and appeared in court yesterday where he was sentenced to six months in prison, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154 and deprived of his rights to the weapon. Detective Inspector Colin Berry of north Worcestershire CID said: “We are pleased to get this swift result and an immediate custodial sentence for Ryan. “West Mercia Police will not tolerate weapons on our streets and will always take action to bring those who are in possession of them to justice which was the case here. “We would also like to reassure residents this was an isolated incident and did not pose any wider risk to the public.” | ||
